Crown Daisy Farm is a small-scale diversified vegetable farm in Staatsburg, NY. Our guiding principle is that healthy living soil grows nutrient dense produce and nutrient density leads to the most flavorful, resilient and beautiful crops. We use organic, natural farming and no-till methods to achieve our goal. Most of what we grow is of culinary significance harvested at peak freshness and delivered to Oyatte (and other chefs in our local community). Anything else we grow is to feed the ecosystem to which we belong. Founded in 2025 by Brett Ellis and partner Rebecca Ellis, Crown Daisy continues to develop into a vibrant regenerative landscape.
Brett Ellis’s farming journey began in earnest at the French Laundry Culinary Garden in Yountville, California. A unique experience that blended culinary tradition and small-scale farming, Brett dove in deep and eventually became the head farmer for The French Laundry before moving back east with his young family.
He worked on different farms in the northeast before starting Crown Daisy in 2025. He believes that small-scale organic agriculture is a crucial part of building a sustainable food system for the future. Along with his partner, Rebecca Ellis (pastry chef and baker) rejuvenating the land while producing healthful and delicious food is the driving principle behind his work.
